This exciting initiative has given the Tilehurst & Purley Schools Cluster a wonderful opportunity to benefit, as demonstrated by the pilot schools, in the following ways:
- Pupils improve their attitude to learning and personal attainment; higher attendance, achieve good grades, build greater self-confidence, increase concentration, social skills and self esteem, all of which ultimately lead to better career prospects.
- Parents and carers receive additional support and also improve their attitude towards their children's educational experience.
- Teachers are more able to focus on quality lessons due to pupils' improved concentration and their willingness to learn.
- Schools achieve better results, having gained more respect as an environment for learning.
- Community have access to affordable and reliable activities, tailored to their needs and geared towards social inclusion. Ultimately this initiative may contribute to reducing anti-social behaviour and crime figures!
